As I mentioned on Saturday, the hotel loyalty program formerly known as Priority Club — which includes Intercontinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and other brands — is offering a 24 hour flash sale on award nights.
This reduces the number of points required for an award night between 50% and 75%. Book by 10am Eastern Tuesday morning for stays between October 23 and November 22.
If there’s a hotel that’s participating which you think you even might need a night at, it’s worth booking, as award nights are generally cancellable for full refund of points up to a cancellation deadline.
Even if you don’t have IHG Rewards points, you can more or less buy all you wish instantly (with a few steps involved) for seven-tenths of a cent per point.
I’m not in love with award nights through this program, since most elite benefits are not applicable when spending points (though some hotels will generously extend benefits anyway) and there’s no option to spend more points to get into a better than base room.
But the deals here are pretty good if any of the participating hotels can work for your plans.

IHG website is crawling for me, with lots of error messages. Are there really that many folks who’ve immediately jumped on this offer? If so, this “mileage deal” thing is bigger than I thought!
The bottom half of the Florida list contains hotels in Georgia. Perhaps it’s a new marketing strategy by IHG to make those properties sound better.
Still getting some glitches (nothing unusual for IHG’s website) especially related to availability, but at least it’s now working. Some good deals, kinda like their PointBreak sales. I like it. I wish SPG would do this!
wow pretty worthless – offering a discount for November stays at a host of beach and coastal locations which are sure to be empty due to cold weather. kind of like the quarterly sale but even less useful.
You’re being too harsh, Boraxo. It’s like PointBreaks. Kind of needle-in-a-haystack and you’re probably not going to get their best properties, but there’s diversity in the list here. I made a couple of reservations in So. Cal. and the Northeast.
Asheville, NC is a beautiful place to go this time of year. I just drove through there this weekend on the way home from the mountains. Their is availability during the week. Biltmore estates is not far from there.
Booked my nights for 75% off at Crowne Plaza in St. Louis…going to take a friend to see Chuck Berry in November.
