As part of the roll-out, “The 60” is looking to have a little fun with a sweepstakes contest that poses the same question that character Ben “Zagger” Zagowski faces in the movie: Is his true love his fiancee or his football team?

Here’s how it works: Entrants must choose which prize they would like a shot at winning. On one side, a 1-carat engagement ring from The Diamond Center. On the other side, a pair of tickets to see the Vikings vs. Packers game on Dec. 23 at Lambeau Field.

The Diamond Center, located in Janesville and Madison, provided the ring used in the film. You might recall that when Amy gives the ring back to Zagger after they break up, he clips it to his Packers binder. The Diamond Center ring box shows up when she runs across it in her dresser drawer. The ring in the sweepstakes is the official “The 60 Yard Line” design — a ¾-karat center diamond surrounded by smaller diamonds.

The winner of the tickets will be announced in mid-December; the winner of the ring around Super Bowl LII. Filmmakers hope to share the story of the superfan winner of the latter and are even open to hosting the engagement and/or wedding at The 60, the nickname for the house at the corner of Stadium Drive and Oneida Street in Ashwaubenon that was used for much of the filming.

“The 60 Yard Line” ended its five-week run at Marcus Theatres in Green Bay on Oct. 12 and is scheduled to move to De Pere Cinema. The film, co-written and co-produced by Beloit native Ryan Churchill and Nick Greco, had a limited theatrical release in about 50 cities primarily across the Midwest in September.

Because the movie is a small, indie project, Churchill doesn’t expect to have complete box office numbers for another four to six weeks, but he said audience response not just in Wisconsin but from fans of other NFL teams as well has been rewarding.

“The fan feedback has been fantastic,” he said. “At Rotten Tomatoes, we’re at a 92 percent positive fan rating. The overall feedback has been an overwhelmingly positive response. You’re always going to get some people who don’t like it, but those are few and far between.

“We’ve had so many people saying, ‘When is it going to be in Dallas or New York ...?' So everybody can see it now (on iTunes and DVD).”

“The 60” logo is already on apparel, but there are plans to expand online merchandise to include the “Live, Pack, Love” saying that plays a key role in the film, Churchill said. A merchandise booth outside The 60 house near Lambeau is also being considered for Packers game days.
