At the recent Frequent Traveler University event in Tampa I led a session talking about online free travel tools I use and how they help me plan better trips, maximize my experiences and otherwise have more fun and more adventures. I rarely think that just sharing the slide deck from a presentation is a suitable replacement for actually being in the presentation, especially since I actually use the slides as prompts to talk more about ideas rather than having everything written on the slides. Still, I tried to make sure that these have most of the information and some links to other resources so they should hopefully be somewhat useful. And if not feel free to post a question in the comments here or reach out to me via email, Facebook, Twitter, G+, smoke signals or whatever else works for you.
The presentation was split into two main parts. First up were a bunch of tools that others own/operate which I use very frequently. The second half was about my Wandering Aramean Travel Tools and highlights of some of the various functions they have available. I think it is a pretty solid list of sites and recommendations, though I’m sure I’ve missed some useful ones, too. Anyone have recommendations for other tools which I should include next time I present on this topic??

What video link? To the best of my knowledge nothing was recorded in that manner. A couple excerpts here and there, but no one was recording complete presentations that I’m aware of.
These are still worthwhile, even without the video/audio 🙂

Glad to hear that some are finding the slides useful.
As for why the sessions aren’t recorded/broadcast/streamed/whatever, I’m not going to speak for the organizers but I have to assume that part of the reason includes the costs associated with doing that being far higher than the zero income they’d receive from hosting and sharing the content that way.
