GREEN BAY - Fifty years after his sneak in the Ice Bowl, legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback Bart Starr returned to Lambeau Field on Sunday.

Starr, the Hall of Fame quarterback under Vince Lombardi, was recognized along with several members of the Packers' 1967 NFL championship team between the first and second quarters of the game against the New Orleans Saints.

Starr was announced to the crowd last. With two people helping him stand, he smiled and waved while receiving a resounding ovation.

With Starr battling several health issues, every trip to Lambeau Field is treasured. His last appearance was a Thanksgiving game against the Chicago Bears during the 2015 season.

“It’ll be great to see Bart,” coach Mike McCarthy said last week. “Obviously, the fight that he’s had in front of him, that’s always good news when you hear about his progress.”
