Cardinals QB Carson Palmer has broken arm, out at least 8 weeks

Carson Palmer's season could be over. Whether his career is as well isn't yet clear.

The Arizona Cardinals quarterback suffered a left broken arm in Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Rams, coach Bruce Arians announced after the game. Arians said that with Palmer requiring surgery and needing eight weeks to recover, backup Drew Stanton would start for the rest of the season.

Palmer, 37, contemplated retirement before announcing in February he would return for the 2017 campaign. He said in June he would weigh the decision again after this season.

Palmer completed 10 of 18 passes for 122 yards and an interception before leaving.
