FIRST QUARTER

WISCONSIN: Linebacker T.J. Edwards intercepted Max Bortenschlager’s pass and raced 54 yards for a touchdown with 12 minutes, 18 seconds left in the quarter. Rafael Gaglianone added the extra point.

Key play: Maryland ran the ball on its first three plays for a combined 28 yards. When the Terps tried to pass on first and 10 from the UW 47, nose tackle Olive Sagapolu sacked Bortenschlager for a 10-yard loss.

Wisconsin 7, Maryland 0.

SECOND QUARTER

MARYLAND: One play after Bortenschlager threw incomplete on third and goal from the 5, Henry Darmstadter hit a 23-yard field goal just eight seconds into the quarter.

Key play: Safety Darnell Savage recovered Jonathan Taylor’s fumble at the UW 5.

The drive: Four plays, zero yards, 27 seconds time of possession. Wisconsin 7, Maryland 3

WISCONSIN: Getting the ball for the first time since he fumbled at the UW 5, Taylor burst through a huge hole on the left side for a 3-yard touchdown run with 10:02 left in the first half. Gaglianone added the extra point.

Key play: Alex Hornibrook hit Quintez Cephus for a 30-yard gain to the Maryland 3.

The drive: Ten plays, 70 yards, 4:45. Wisconsin 14, Maryland 3.

WISCONSIN: Hornibrook found tight end Zander Neuville wide open for an 8-yard touchdown with 32 seconds left in the half. Gaglianone added the extra point.

MARYLAND: Bortenschlger was given protection from his line and found wide receiver Taivon Jacobs for a 10-yard touchdown with 6:50 left in the quarter. Harmstadter added the extra point.

Key play: UW’s Nick Nelson was called for unsportsmanlike conduct after an incompletion on second and 11, giving Maryland a first down at the UW 11.

The drive: Eleven plays, 73 yards, 4:19. Wisconsin 28, Maryland 10.

MARYLAND: One play after a third-down incompletion, Harmstadter drilled a 45-yard field goal with 29 seconds left in the quarter.

Key play: Bortenschlager hit wide receiver DJ Moore for 38 yards to the UW 38 on third and 13.

FOURTH QUARTER

WISCONSIN: Fullback Austin Ramesh powered into the end zone for a 1-yard score with 9:10 remaining. Gaglianone added the extra point.

Key play: Maryland was called for pass interference with UW facing third and 5 from the Terrapins’ 41.
