39-year-old father killed in hit-and-run while bicycling with son in Racine County

A 39-year-old father bicycling with his 15-year-old son was killed in a hit-and-run crash late Friday in Caledonia.

Caledonia police said good Samaritans were performing CPR on the victim when first responders arrived at 9:47 p.m. in the 5400 block of state Highway 32. He was transported to a Racine hospital, where he died.

The man was riding his bicycle southbound while his son rode on the sidewalk alongside him when the man was struck.

Multiple pieces of the vehicle that fled were found at the scene. Police determined the striking vehicle was a silver Cadillac CTS, model years 2008 to 2014, and later took a Racine man into custody.
