Crews battle brush fire near Rocky Peak in Simi Valley

Firefighters battled a brush fire on Rocky Peak in Simi Valley on Friday night, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.

The fire was reported to authorities at 9:32 p.m. in the area of Santa Susana Pass Road and Rocky Peak Road.

First responders estimated the fire to be between one-half to three-quarter acre in size. 

Simi Valley police officers responded to close down Santa Susana Pass Road while firefighters worked on the fire which was reported contained around 10 p.m.

The Los Angeles and Los Angeles County fire departments also responded to the incident.
