CCSO seeks help to find man who witness said tried to lure girl into vehicle

Collier County Sheriff's Office detectives are asking for the public's help to identify a man they said tried to lure a child into his vehicle in East Naples on Thursday.

A witness told deputies she saw a man stop his silver PT Cruiser along the side of the road at Lakewood Boulevard and Estey Avenue about 4:30 p.m. and motion for the girl to get into the vehicle, according to a Sheriff's Office news release. The witness said the girl shook her head and rode away from the man on her bike. The man then sped off, officials said.

The incident took place at the crosswalk leading to East Naples Middle School, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The witness described the man as Hispanic, in his late 50s or 60s, clean shaven and with gray hair. He was overweight and wore glasses.
