Quinten Dormady expected to be available for Vols against Alabama, after report of having shoulder evaluated

Tennessee quarterback Quinten Dormady (12) runs with the ball during the first half of a Tennessee vs. South Carolina game at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017.

Tennessee quarterback Quinten Dormady will make the trip for the Vols’ game Saturday (3:30 p.m. ET, CBS) at No. 1 Alabama, a team spokesman said Friday, and he's expected to be available to play.

Volquest.com, citing sources, reported Friday that Dormady was in Chicago on Wednesday and Thursday having his throwing shoulder evaluated.

UT would not comment on the report.

Dormady started the first five games of the season. Jarrett Guarantano replaced him as the starter for last week’s game against South Carolina and already was expected to start against the Crimson Tide. Dormady appeared off the bench against the Gamecocks, taking two snaps.
