The folks behind the wacky, yet wildly successful Ostrich Pillow are back with an equally strange piece of comfort-oriented headwear. The Ostrich Pillow Loop is equal parts blindfold and pillow, but promises to do a better job of blocking out light than a standard eye mask thanks to a snugger fit.

Those who are already fans of Studio Banana's Ostrich Pillows will be well familiar with its oddly-shaped head cushions. Some are made for adults, some are made for kids, others slide onto your arm and others wrap around the neck. They all, however, have one thing in common – they're not aimed at people who care too much about how they look.

The Ostrich Pillow Loop definitely stays true to this ethos. But if you're happy riding a train looking like a burns victim, prompting other aircraft passengers to ask whether you've been taken hostage, or like you wrapped your dusty door snake around your head before jumping on the bus, then the Ostrich Pillow Loop is the look for you.

With that said, Studio Banana's peculiar designs certainly haven't held them back thus far. It aimed to raise US$70,000 with its Kickstarter campaign for the original Ostrich Pillow and amassed just under $200,000 in funding, so clearly it is onto something with its approach to comfort.

It has returned to Kickstarter to fund its first "eye pillow," which in addition to making it more comfortable to rest your head against a wall or window, is claimed to block out 99.9 percent of light thanks to microbeads inside that adapt to the contours of your face. It has also been designed to work with headphones, should you need to block out sounds, and it can be worn like a scarf when not in use.

This time around, Studio Banana is looking to raise $50,000 and is well on its way at the time of writing, with almost 500 backers pledging over $13,000 so far. Early pledges of $20 are available and will have an Ostrich Pillow Loop sent your way in June 2018 if the campaign runs as planned. You can check out the pitch video below.
