Update: This year American Express will be doing $10 statement credit instead of $25 per the Frequently Asked Questions page.

Is there an American Express statement credit offer for Card Members for this year’s Small Business Saturday?
Yes. American Express is offering Card Members the opportunity to get a one-time $10 statement credit when they register any eligible American Express® Card and use it on 11/30/13 to spend $10 or more in a single in-store transaction at a qualifying small business that appears on the Small Business Saturday Map.

From previous post:
American Express has just announced that they will be doing their very popular Small Business Saturday promotion again on November 30, 2013. Through the promotion, American Express offers a $25 credit per card for spending at least $25 at a small business on November 30th. Registration for the promotion is required and is limited to a certain amount of total spots. Registration for this promotion is not live yet. You must register each individual card number in order to get the credit. Terms and condition are here.

My experience has been that every cardholder on an account is eligible for their own credit, in essence with 5 card holders you can get a total of $125 in credits. Here is my experience from the Small Business Saturday in 2011.

  1. Not worth it for $10. I’ll skip it this year and I’ll probably drop at least one Amex card thatI was fuguring the $25 helped offset the AF.
