The Hall of Fame opened July 1, 1967, as a temporary exhibit in the concourses of the Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena. The hall moved into its own permanent building adjacent to the arena in 1976, with President Gerald Ford attending the ceremony. It relocated to its current home in the Lambeau Field Atrium in 2015, where it draws more than 17,000 visitors annually.

Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Inc. is an independent, not-for-profit organization committed to preserving and advancing the storied history of the Green Bay Packers. The organization manages 80,000 artifacts and includes 159 inductees.

The event also will include Vince Lombardi actor John Pinero.

Hall of Fame President Tom Konop said 1967 was significant in Packers history.

"The Hall of Fame was founded. The Packers defeated Dallas in championship games to start and end the year and won the first Super Bowl," Konop said.

In addition to appearances by the former players, the night will include video about the hall's birth, 1967 and other stories. Fifty images of the Packers Hall of Fame growth will be displayed in the atrium, as will a life-size statue of Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Bart Starr. Attendees will have the opportunity to send best wishes cards to Starr, who has had health issues.

"You can't think of the Packers without in some way thinking of Bart," Konop said. "We want to give the fans an opportunity to reach out to Bart and Cherry directly."

Fifty footballs, signed by the nine attending former players, will sell for $250 each, with the money going to the NFL Player Care Foundation, with the funds specifically designated for former Packers players in need.
