Another comment reads, "I'm going to kill the sheriff of Collier County Florida" and "I'm driving to Naples Florida."

The FBI is investigating the threats, according to Karie Partington, a Sheriff's Office spokeswoman. Partington said in an email that "a citizen came forward and made us aware of the posts about a week ago."

The threats stem from an alleged altercation 25 years ago between the man and Naples police while Rambosk was chief. In several posts, the man says the altercation left him with severe brain damage.

The Daily News is not identifying the man because he has not been charged. A request for comment from him was not returned Tuesday, and his identity could not be confirmed.

The Sheriff's Office would not comment because the investigation is being conducted by the FBI.
