49% of U.S. soybeans, 28% of corn harvested

The U.S. corn and soybean harvests remain slower than average, with rain slowing down or outright delaying activity last week. Forecasts for this week are generally warmer and drier in most of the Midwest and Plains.

As of Sunday, 28% of corn is harvested, compared to the five year average of 47%, with 90% of the crop mature, compared to 94% on average. 65% of the crop is rated good to excellent, up 1% on the week.

49% of soybeans are harvested, compared to 60% typically this time of year, and 94% are dropping leaves, compared to 93% normally. 61% of beans are in good to excellent shape, unchanged.

Rainfall also slowed down winter wheat planting. 60% of the crop is planted, compared to 71% on average, and 37% has emerged, compared to the usual pace of 43%.

40% of U.S. pastures and rangelands are called good to excellent, 1% less than last week.
