Facebook rant lands dad in jail on charges he threatened Ozaukee County judge

A frustrated Facebook rant landed a Saukville man in jail over the weekend, charged with threats to the Ozaukee County judge presiding over his child custody case.

According to the criminal complaint, John K. Borowski, 42, posted the following statement on Facebook late last month, after a court hearing:

“I’m a white man being deprived of my child for unjust causes. I have absolutely no criminal record. I barely drink and am constantly subjected to drug and alcohol tests required by the FRA ... Who’s with me to riot and loot the court house. Possibly the judge's neighborhood? I want to really put a test to “white privilege” and “male” superiority. I don’t think taking a knee or destroying my own neighborhood will do any good.”

A photo posted on a different date, but appearing right below the Sept. 29 post, showed Borowski in hunting clothes with a gun, the complaint notes.

Someone sent an email containing the post to Borowski's ex-wife last week, and that was shown to an investigator who showed it to Circuit Judge Joseph Voiland, who is hearing the case.

Voiland told the investigator that as a judge, he expects some negative feedback at times, but the Facebook post did raise "concerns about the safety of his family." The charges, both felonies, were filed Friday.

Borowski had been before Voiland on Sept. 15, without a lawyer. His ex-wife's lawyer had earlier sought sanctions against Borowski for his litigation tactics. At the hearing, Voiland denied Borowski's motion for the court to again review his case and granted the sanctions. Voiland's written order was filed Sept. 28, the day before the post at issue by Borowski.

Borowski has represented himself in other family law matters, including some involving the mother of his other children that went to the Court of Appeals, where he lost.
