Two Milwaukee police officers suffered non-life-threatening injuries when their squad car was struck in an accident involving a vehicle driven by armed robbery suspects Sunday afternoon.

According to police:

Two suspects attempted a robbery in the 4200 block of N. Teutonia Ave. and fled in a green Honda while the victims pursued them in another vehicle around 1 p.m.

As the Honda driven by the robbery suspects and the vehicle driven by the victims entered the intersection of N. 27th and W. Burleigh streets, the robbery suspects' vehicle struck another vehicle which, in turn, was pushed into the squad car stopped at a red light.

All three vehicles sustained severe damage. The suspect driving the Honda fled on foot while the passenger, a 20-year-old Milwaukee man who is on probation for armed robbery, was arrested.

The officers were treated at a hospital and released.
