Top prep football teams in the Knoxville area going into Week 9

1. Maryville (6-1) - The Rebels rolled past Cleveland by three scores and has potential to go unbeaten in 2-6A. Last week: No. 2. This week: at Ooltewah (Thur)

2. Farragut (7-1) - The Admirals racked up 417 yards (335 passing for Gavin Wilkinson) but fell for the first time this season to Dobyns-Bennett. Last week: No. 1. This week: vs. Bearden.

3. Fulton (6-1) - The Falcons flew past Clinton as Xavier Malone threw for 225 yards. Maryville remains their only loss. Last week: No. 3. This week: at Campbell Co.

4. Catholic (5-3) - The Fighting Irish rolled over 1-3A West Greene last week and are looking at a clear path in 4-5A. Last week: No. 4. This week: at Walker Valley.

5. Alcoa (5-2) - The Tornadoes were off Week 8, while Austin-East won to tie Alcoa for the lead in 2-3A. Last week: No. 5. This week: vs. Kingston.

6. Greeneville (7-0) - The Greene Devils added another big deficit, blowing past Sullivan South. Last week: No. 6. This week: at Elizabethton.

7. Anderson County (7-0) - The Mavericks were off last week but are averaging 52 points per game. Last week: No. 7. This week: at Chattanooga Central.

8. Oak Ridge (5-2) - The Wildcats were also off during their fall break. Oak Ridge has allowed fewer than 10 points a game in 3-5A. Last week: No. 8. This week: Clinton at Oak Ridge.
