I expect, like me, you’re seeing a lot of beauty advent calendars? I’m being more selective this year about which I’m featuring as there are plenty of blogs showcasing absolutely all of them so there’s no need to replicate. I’m also looking at them thinking – HOW MUCH?! I think it adds so much pressure to an already expensive time of year – particularly if you’re being nagged to gift them (i.e. kids!) so this is quite a find from Superdrug. It’s not an advent as such – because that would require 24 (or 25) windows, but a ’12 day’ calendar. If we’re being sticklers, this would be given after Christmas to follow the traditional 12 days, but I see no reason not to give it earlier, either for 12 days or to open every other day.
Behind each door is a little bottle of eau de toilette in happy fragrances such as Chocolat, Lime & Ginger or Sugar & Spice. Are you getting fine fragrance? No, but they’re all the sugary fun kind of scents that will make you smile but could never be mistaken for Chanel. Although that said, the bottle shapes are rather similar! I’m going to give this to Sophie, my niece, who is 15 and will absolutely love it (and won’t mind that I’ve opened some of the doors for photography). The best thing is that it’s £12 HERE reduced from £24. The packaging isn’t premium, but I kind of like that it’s not pretending to be anything other than an affordable version of something that has got very, very expensive.
In fact, Superdrug has gone strong on the whole 12 day thing – including a Make Up Revolution one reduced from £60 to £40 HERE, above, and a Beauty & The Beast Bath & Body Product 12 Day Calendar at £6 currently out of stock but reduced from £12.
