Bonita woman arrested, accused of August hit-and-run that killed motorcyclist

A Bonita Springs woman was arrested Thursday, accused of leaving the scene of an August crash that killed a motorcyclist, state police said.

Natasha McGowan, 25, faces a felony charge of failure to stop at a crash involving death, online arrest records state.

The Aug. 15 crash in Bonita Springs killed Ryan Kinsey, 28, of El Paso, Texas, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Kinsey was riding north on U.S. 41 south of Cedar Creek Drive at 11:47 p.m. when he fell off his motorcycle and onto the road, the report states. Kinsey stopped in the right lane of U.S. 41, according to the report, and his motorcycle stopped ahead of him.

McGowan also was traveling north on U.S. 41, driving a 2001 Mercury Sable in the right lane, and hit Kinsey, troopers said.

She then continued north on U.S. 41, the report states.
