How To Combine Hyatt Points From Different Accounts

One of my point earning strategies is to try and consolidate the hotel programs where I earn points. This is because the more you earn in one program, the closer you’ll be to an award level. It doesn’t really do you any good to have a few thousand points here, a few thousand miles there. I find it better to have a lot of points in a few select programs as part of my point earning strategy.

But that is not to say that diversification isn’t helpful, because it is, if you have enough points to actually do something in that program. For the instances where members have stranded points, it’s helpful to be able to transfer them into a partner program or to a friend or family member. Some programs offer easier ways to transfer their points outof the program while others make it easy to transfer to other members in the program.

For example, Hyatt offers the ability to transfer points to partner airlines. Starwood is another example, and they actually have one of the best ways to transfer points to airlines. But if you want to transfer within the program to a friend or family member, Hyatt can help you with that too. For example, Hyatt offers their members the ability transfer to other members in the program through what is called a “Point Combining Request Form.”

Here’s a look at how a Hyatt member can transfer their points to a friend or family member.

How To Combine Hyatt Points From Different Accounts

Step 1) Download the “Point Combining Request Form”

Hyatt has an official “Point Combining Request Form” that you can download from their website here.

In the past, the transferred points have shown up in the receiving account within a few hours of the form being received by Hyatt. But this will depend on how you send it to Hyatt and their capacity to process the transfer.

Bottom Line

Hyatt Gold Passport members can combine their point balances using the “Point Combining Request Form” once every 30 days. This is a very helpful feature in case you have a friend or family who needs extra Hyatt points for a specific award. The one time I’ve used this feature it took less than a few hours for the points to show up in the receiving account.

Have you ever used the point combining feature? How long did it take for the points to combine?
