Ready to get scared? Here are some of the spookiest events happening in Southwest Florida this month:

Greenwell’s Haunted Hike The 26th annual scarefest features 16 terrifying scenes in the woods. Enter at your own risk. 7:30-11 p.m. (event starts at dark). Fort Myers Fall Festival at the Farm This kid-friendly event features hayrides (including a haunted one), a petting zoo with farm animals, vendors, music and a pumpkin patch. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Southern Fresh Farms, 8500 Penzance Blvd., Fort Myers. 768-0309 or southernfresh.farm

Spooktacular Halloween cruises Salty Sam’s Pirate Cruise celebrates Halloween all month long with themed cruises, costume contests, games, spooky stories, prizes and more. The cruises include family-friendly offerings, a murder-mystery cruise and a masquerade-ball cruise celebrating the birth of “Captain Redrum.” $25-$40. Fall and Halloween Festival This daily festival features rides, a huge pumpkin patch, games, family activities, the "Halloween Express" train and a collection of creative scarecrows entered into the festival's annual "Scarecrows in the Park" contest. 6-9 p.m. today through Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Free admission, but some activities and rides cost extra ($2-$14, depending on the activity). Haunted Walk This 33rd annual Haunted Walk brings fear back to Calusa Nature Center. Not recommended for ages 15 and younger. Guests are encouraged to come in costume. 7:30-9:30 p.m. daily through Oct. 31 (but it stays open later on Fridays and Saturdays) $12.50-$15. Haunted “Gross” Hay Ride Instead of the annual Haunted “Gross” House, organizers are offering this scary event spanning the fairgrounds. The reason: Damage to the venue from Hurricane Irma. The haunted hayride benefits Hurricane Irma relief through the Making Life “Fair” Program. 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Saturday's event also features a Trunk Or Treat from 7:30-8:30 p.m. and a costume contest at 8 p.m. $5. Scream on the Green Haunted Walk Copperhead Golf Course gets transformed into a haunted walk during The Rotary Club of Lehigh Acres’ fourth annual event. 7-10 p.m. Oct. 27, 28 and 31. There will also be a free Trunk of Treat starting at 6 p.m. Halloween with free candy. Admission to Scream on the Green is $3 (but you get a $1 discount if you bring a canned good for the Lehigh Community Services’ Food Pantry). Farmer Mike’s Haunted Corn Maze and Fall Festival Farmer Mike's gets spooked up with various monsters and ghouls for this annual fest, including a hay ride and a haunted corn maze. Oct. 20-Nov. 5. Hours are 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. There will also be trick or treating from 4-7 p.m. Halloween night. It’s The Great Pumpkin at Bass ProShop The Peanuts gang is back for another Halloween at Bass Pro Shops. Hang out with costumed characters Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Sally and Snoopy. Kids activities include free crafts, games and 4x6 photos of your kid’s costume. Takes place 5-7 p.m. Oct. 27 and 30; noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 28 and 29; and 4-8 p.m. Oct. 31 (Halloween night). Bone Thugs-n-Harmony The '90s hip-hop group returns to The Dixie for the Fly 98.5 Halloween Bash. Haunting on the Harbor A 6,000-square-foot haunted house billing itself as the largest haunted house in Southwest Florida. It’s part of a festival that includes live music, costume contests, a kids fun zone, a hypnotist show, food, drinks and more. 5-11 p.m. Oct. 27-28, 7-10 p.m. Oct. 29 (haunted house only), 5-11 p.m. Oct. 31. $3 admission to the festival (free for ages 11 and younger). Cape Fear Halloween Block Party Radio station 96 K-Rock hosts this block party featuring tribute bands Kiss America (Kiss) and Completely Unchained (Van Halen). Costumes are encouraged, and there will be a contest for ages 18 and older with $1,000 awarded for best costume. Plus food trucks and beer. Starts at 6 p.m. Free. Halloween Spectacular Tribute Show Southwest Florida musicians pay homage to their favorite bands and musical artists, including tributes to Nine Inch Nails, Aesop Rock and Howard Jones. A Nightmare on Third Street This trick-or-treating haunted walk takes place 7-11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, and Tuesday, Oct. 31 (Halloween night). Free admission (although donations are appreciated). The walk contains nightmares, scares, blood, gore and intense themes. It’s not recommended for very small children. Cape Fright Night The third annual fest featuring headliners Pop Evil and performances by shock illusionist Dan Sperry and opening acts 10 Years and Otherwise. 6-11 p.m. $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Halloween Spooktacular at the Tower Bell Tower Shops is calling all goblins, ghosts, princesses and superheroes to get into the Halloween spirit during its annual spooktacular from 4-6 p.m. at Center Court at Bell Tower Shops. This is a  fun, free and safe environment for children to enjoy festive activities.
