This was a sober moment early enough in the trip that reminded me I never want to find one of these in my pocket when I’m traveling, or ever for that matter.

Traveling gives you the opportunity to see and experience things you may not orherwise be able to. So I try not to have one too many. Afterall, you don’t want to find yourself in an alley alone, intoxicated, and in unfamiliar territory…

…or miss places like this…

…or ruin the opportunity to play this…

…or encounter a “gentle” breeze playing here after a long night…

…and you definitely wouldn’t want to miss a chance at this…

I’m always aware of drinking too much, but especially when traveling. It is nice to have a drink or two now and then, but I never want to find one of those napkins in my pocket.

Have you ever had one too many and missed out on something while traveling? I hope you never find one of those napkins in your pocket as well.

  1. I was the designated driver / tour guide for a guys’ trip to Munich during Oktoberfest and one of my friends got so drunk on the first day that he can’t remember any of the 3 days we were there. We took plenty of pictures, but it’s all a blur for him. The most memorable thing for me during that trip was walking up a church tower next to the fest grounds for 2 euros and having a 360 view of the city.

  2. Good deal for 2 Euro.

I was in Montreal and some friends and I went out to the W Wonder bar. A well respected guy had two too many and other friends ended up putting him in a cab with a note to take him to the Westin 1 block away. The taxi came back 15 min later kicking him back out in front of the W. A buddy and I ended up having to walk him all the way back to him room at the Westin. Needless to say, he missed the next day in that great city.
