Man killed in second double shooting in 24 hours in Milwaukee

A 28-year-old man was shot to death Friday afternoon in the second double shooting on Milwaukee's north side in less than 24 hours, police said.

A 29-year-old man was hospitalized with serious injuries suffered in the shooting, reported shortly after 3:30 p.m. in the 2900 block of N. 40th St., according to police, who were seeking suspects.

About 5:30 p.m. Thursday, a large street fight on Milwaukee's north side escalated into gunfire involving multiple shooters who wounded two people, police said.

The two male victims drove themselves to a hospital after being shot in the 2400 block of W. Auer Ave., police said.

The two were treated and released and the incident remains under investigation, police said.
