Several days ago two young eagles, this year's hatch, were brought to the Forest supervisor's office in Alamogordo. One was captured by Rev. Means, near Weed and the other one was caught by Dave Lewis on the Bluewater. The former is a Golden eagle and the latter a specimen of the Mexican eagle.

They were tendered to the Town of Alamogordo for a park attraction but the proffer was refused for some reason. They were shipped by the White Line stage Tuesday to Roswell and will occupy a place in the park. The City of San Antonio wired the Forest Supervisor Tuesday that they wanted them down there and to express them collect, but they were too late as Roswell had accepted them.

Though too young to make a good try at flying yet the young birds are powerful enough to tear a rabbit to bits using their talons and beaks.

It is stated that there are a few specimens of the Golden eagle left in this section, most of the eagles of this section being the Mexican variety which is native of the lower chains of the Rocky Mountains in the Southwest and Mexico.
