Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! How was your week? Ours was different – but a good kind of different. Brian was off so we got in several life skills lessons, along with regular school.

There were some auto shop and carpentry lessons thrown in the mix.

Three of my favorite people from Megan’s Sweet 16 celebration last week.

There is this kid living at my house who looks a lot like Josh but doesn’t act much like him. This kid had the option of taking a day or two off of seatwork in exchange for life skills lessons in the form of helping Brian with some odd jobs around the house.

One of my favorite pictures because of the picture-in-picture effect.

Although he did help with some of the jobs, he opted to get his school work completed, too. I even went into his room one day thinking he was taking a break and found that he was working through his coding lessons instead. {tossing confetti}

I had a cute little visitor yesterday. I picked my niece after preschool and brought her home with me for a couple of hours. Apparently, I make a pretty mean grilled cheese sandwich.

Megan has been plugging along with school, but we’re having trouble with her laptop again. I don’t know if she’s just hard on laptops or we just keep getting lemons. {sigh} It’s very frustrating.

Brianna signed her dog, Belle, up for obedience training that starts next week. She has to go through two levels of obedience training then she’ll be evaluated to see if she can begin training as a therapy dog. We hope that she’ll qualify. If not, at the very least, she’ll mind a little better. Hopefully.

Those are the short and sweet highlights of my week. I hope yours was uneventful (in a good way) or had excitement of the fun variety. Have a great weekend!

  1. I hope Megan had a great sweet sixteen! Your son reminds me of my oldest daughter. Although she graduated last June, she’s been trying to learn coding on her own because she’s starting at the community college in January, and she wants to major in computer science or game development. What is your son using for coding? Anyway, have a good weekend. Your niece is adorable, by the way. 🙂

    1. He’s taking the Complete Java Masterclass on Udemy.

      And, thank you. She is quite adorable and so witty. She cracks me up.

  2. The cake looks so pretty! And I know what you mean about laptop lemons! Although I am pretty sure in our house that it is the kids being hard on the electronics that causes most of our issues. Great post!
