Here's a look at the customer satisfaction rating of the nation's medium size airports as determined by J.D. Power.

Milwaukee's Mitchell International Airport is ranked 13th out of 21 medium-size airports in the United States, according to a study of customer satisfaction released Thursday by J.D. Power.

Overall, the 2017 J.D. Power North America Airport Satisfaction Study found that passenger satisfaction with airports in the U.S. has reached an all-time high.

The study found that satisfaction improved in getting through security, "thanks largely to fewer TSA staffing issues this year," J.D. Power said in a statement. Two other areas that posted gains in airport customer satisfaction are check-in/baggage check, and food, beverage and retail.

Construction and congestion continue to be among the biggest problem areas for customer satisfaction, according to the study.

"Despite the most creative efforts to address traveler frustration, major city airports that are in the thick of massive construction efforts — notably Newark Liberty, LaGuardia, Los Angeles International and Chicago O’Hare — are still fighting the headwinds of traveler disruption and access challenges that are handicapping their overall satisfaction scores," according to the study.

Mitchell is owned and operated by Milwaukee County.
