Morgan Ernst is the PrepXtra Player of the Week. The Webb senior won both the offensive and defensive polls this week.

On offense, Ernst rushed for 176 yards and three scores in a 48-27 victory over Grace Christian. On the other side, he recorded 18 tackles, a sack and a blocked extra point.

He won both polls resoundingly, with 77 percent of the 2,721 defensive votes and 70 percent of the 2,821 offensive votes.

Central's Luke Ferguson was the runner-up on offense. The freshman playing his second game earned 13 percent of the votes for his 10-for-10 passing, 155 yards and three touchdowns.

Third was Shawn Marcum of Campbell County (151 receiving yards and two touchdowns). Luke Kirby of Grace (26-for-37, 204 yards, one touchdown) was fourth, and Cade Ballard of Greeneville (21-for-33, 303 yards, three touchdowns and a rushing touchdown) was fifth.

Central's Xavier Washington was second on defense. He earned 10 percent of the votes for his nine tackles, including one for a loss, a fumble recovery and a one-handed interception.

Bryson Reed of Powell (eight tackles, including two for a loss and a sack) was third. Grace's Andrew Sorrells (pick six and seven tackles) finished fourth, and Halls' Hunter Huff (11 tackles, two blocked extra points and a blocked punt) was fifth.

PrepXtra Player of the Week nominations can be submitted by coaches until 10 p.m. Sunday. The poll will be posted on Monday and open until noon Thursday.
