Trip Report – SkyTeam Lounge London Heathrow T4 (LHR)

by Adam

This is part thirteen of a fourteen part trip report from my travels to the UK, Malta, and Mallorca. This picture trip report includes the shared SkyTeam Lounge at London Heathrow (LHR) Terminal 4.

After visiting the Star Alliance shared business class lounge in Terminal 1 two weeks earlier, it was interesting to compare the amenities to SkyTeam’s relatively new lounge at T4.

“Once airside, First and Business Class customers and SkyTeam Elite Plus passengers can head straight for our unique SkyTeam Exclusive Lounge, located in Terminal 4, opposite Gate 10. This two-level SkyTeam Exclusive Lounge occupies more than 1,600 square meters and offers space for more than 300 passengers. Complimentary food and beverage service – A comprehensive selection of international cuisine, reflecting the distinct fares of the SkyTeam members’ home markets. VIP area – First Class passengers and other VIP lounge guests will enjoy ultra-luxury amenities including exclusive wine and champagne offerings. Luxurious amenities such as an oxygen bar, a wine bar with a generous selection of red and white wines, and a wellness center– including showers and full-body massage chairs”

“International Cuisine”…sort of a check? Like last time, selections included some deli meats, pizza rolls, tiny sandwiches, and fruit…

Clarins Complimentary Spa – I didn’t see anyone working, but there was a “treatment in progress” sign hung from one of the rooms.

It’s a decent offering and at least on par with most US lounges. I enjoyed the seating areas and the overall atmosphere (way less chaotic) more than the Star Alliance T1 Business Lounge, though the food offerings were definitely superior with Star (though I’m comparing breakfast to midday which isn’t entirely fair). What do you think?

On par with most US lounges? Seriously? I’m not sure which US lounges you frequent but the T4 lounge is way nicer than almost any lounge found n the US.

Interesting note is that united business passangers have privlages to this lounge when departing the old CO routes to IAH and EWR.
