Packers bringing back Ricky Jean Francois to boost defensive line depth

GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Packers' split with defensive lineman Ricky Jean Francois didn't last long.
The Packers plan to re-sign the ninth-year veteran, a source told PackersNews.com. Jean Francois, in his ninth season, originally signed with the Packers as a free agent in March after two seasons in Washington.
His return to the 53-man roster could bolster the Packers' defensive line depth while Mike Daniels treats a hip injury.

Jean Francois was released a week ago when the Packers needed to create roster room to reinstate wide receiver Geronimo Allison and promote offensive lineman Adam Pankey from the practice squad.
The Packers will need to make a corresponding move on their 53 to open a spot for Jean Francois. A source said that spot will not be created by sending Daniels to injured reserve.
