Suspect in Brown Deer carjacking arrested after police chase into Milwaukee

An 18-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly carjacking a 68-year-old woman in Brown Deer and leading police on a chase that ended in Milwaukee.

The man approached the woman in the parking lot of Pick 'n Save, 9200 N. Green Bay Road, shortly after 4 p.m., forcibly took the keys to her vehicle and drove off, according to a news release from the Brown Deer Police Department.

The man then fled a traffic stop by an officer who saw the vehicle, leading to a pursuit that ended in the 8200 block of W. Good Hope Road, where the suspect stopped the vehicle and was arrested, according to the release.

The case will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office, according to the release.
