The Milwaukee Bucks officially announced the signing of veteran free-agent Brandon Rush to a training camp contract Tuesday. The signing came one day after a tweet from his agency, Priority Sports, that congratulated the nine-year NBA veteran on joining the Bucks.

Rush, 32, joins training-camp invitees James Young, JeQuan Lewis and Bronson Koenig, who is on a two-way contract.

Rush, a 6-foot-6 wing, was the 13th overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft. He's averaged 6.8 points and 2.9 rebounds while playing 22.0 minutes per game over nine seasons. His 2012-'13 season was cut short when he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the second game.

After that injury, Rush rebuilt his career as a role player on the Golden State Warriors' championship team in 2014-'15 followed by taking on more minutes, including 25 starts, during the Warriors' record-setting 73-win campaign in 2015-'16. Rush held his own alongside Golden State's strong three-point shooters, converting on 42.7% of his shots, including 41.4% of his three-point attempts during the 2015-'16 season.

Rush spent last season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he appeared in just 47 games (33 starts) and put up just 4.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 21.9 minutes per appearance.

The Bucks will begin training camp Tuesday at their new downtown training facility. Their first preseason game will be held less than a week later at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 2 in Dallas against the Mavericks at American Airlines Center.
