Two DUI arrests made at Camarillo checkpoint
Two DUI arrests were made at a checkpoint held in Camarillo over the weekend, authorities said Tuesday.
The checkpoint operated from 9 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday at Santa Rosa Road and Los Pueblos Drive, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
A 57-year-old Simi Valley resident and a 50-year-old Moorpark resident were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, authorities said.
There were 589 vehicles screened and four citations were issued for driving without a license or driving with a suspended license. Seven other citations were issued, authorities said.
Funding for the checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, authorities said.
