After selling more than 30,000 tickets in the first 45 minutes they went on sale Thursday morning, the Milwaukee Brewers decided to increase the inventory for the opener Friday of the weekend series against Miami that was relocated to Miller Park.

The series was scheduled for Marlins Park but after damage by Hurricane Irma to that area, the Friday through Sunday series was moved to Milwaukee. The Brewers announced Thursday they would sell only 10,000 tickets for the Friday 7:10  p.m. game but arranged additional ballpark staffing to increase ticket sales.

With the additional inventory, the Brewers are selling 23,000 tickets for each of the three games.

Demand was so high when ticket sales opened at 10 a.m., it caused a temporary overload of the website for making purchases. Fans who failed originally to obtain tickets are encouraged to try again.

Before the day was done, all of the field level tickets at $15 and $20 were snapped up for all three games. The Brewers said they still have $10 seats in the loge level available for each game.

"There's a good number of $10 tickets remaining, so we want fans to know that," Brewers vice president Tyler Barnes said. "The fan response has been great. We expect crowds in the 20,000 range for each game.

The Brewers also announced that concessions would be discounted 25% for the series, with the exception of items sold by vendors in the stands. Also, students with IDs can buy $5 tickets for Friday's game.

“We appreciate the efforts of Delaware North in going to great lengths to ensure proper staffing for concession operations, and now giving us an opportunity to create more inventory for tomorrow’s game,” Brewers chief operating officer Rick Schlesinger said.

“We are looking forward to a great experience for the fans, and a great environment for the players as well.”

Tickets are available through brewers.com/marlins, the Brewers box office or by calling 414-902-4000. Purchases will be limited to eight per person, per game.

All parking for the game will be $10. There will be no advance parking sales and there will be no preferred parking option. Lots will open three hours prior to game times and gates to the stadium will open 90 minutes prior.
