ISU feed milling and grain science project receives financial boost

Three new gifts will jump-start plans to develop a feed mill and grain science complex at Iowa State University.

Iowa State University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences has announced three major financial commitments to support a new educational and research facility for feed milling and grain science.

They include eight million dollars from the Kent Corporation, four million from the Iowa Corn Promotion Board, and two million dollars from Sukup Manufacturing. The commitments represent two-thirds of what is needed for the 21 million dollar project, which is being funded entirely by private donations.

This facility will allow interactive learning for students, research space and opportunities for faculty and extension and outreach programs to the workforce.
