Police log: Woman calls cops, ends up admitting to DUI

BONNEAUVILLE - State police who responded to a reported domestic incident said they ended up investigating the caller for DUI.  According to Pennsylvania State Police, Gettysburg, a 53-year-old Gettysburg woman was found to be under the influence once police responded to her home in Bonneauville, Adams County, after she called to report a possible domestic incident. Police said she admitted to driving home. She was taken to the hospital for a blood draw, and charges will be filed pending those results.

SIMPLE ASSAULT: Bryan Barrick, Newville, is accused of punching, pushing and grabbing a 33-year-old Newville man, at about 3 p.m. Aug. 19 on Mountain View Terrace, Upper Frankford Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police, Carlisle.

HARASSMENT: Five people were charged with summary harassment after a large fight at about 6:15 p.m. Sept. 7 in the 1000 block of Bard Drive, Shippensburg Township. Pennsylvania State Police, Carlisle, said those charged were Shakera Jenkins, Siaani Scott, Brianna Showell, Destiny McKinney and Ashley Myers.

WARRANTS: Robin Campbell, 43, Waynesboro, was arrested at about  6:20 p.m. Sept. 7 during a traffic stop in the first block of South Earl Street, Shippensburg, after police determined she had five active felony warrants, according to Pennsylvania State Police, Carlisle.

RETAIL THEFT: Someone stole $700 worth of items from Wal-Mart in Straban Township at about 3:30 p.m. Sept. 5. According to Pennsylvania State Police, Gettysburg, stolen items included a Kronicle crossbow, a Ruger BB gun, a DVD player and an air tool kit. The person responsible was not detected leaving the store and drove off in a gray Dodge hatchback vehicle. The theft was discovered on Sept. 6. Anyone with information should call state police in Gettysburg at 717-334-8111.

HARASSMENT: A 104-year-old Fayetteville man and a 20-year-old Waynesboro woman grabbed one another "in an inappropriate way," causing the elderly man to slap the woman's hand, the evening of Aug. 30 in the 6000 block of Chambersburg Road, Franklin Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police, Gettysburg. Police said both refused to cooperate with the investigation or file charges.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: A 27-year-old Biglerville woman was taken to Gettysburg Hospital with a head injury and suspected broken bones after an altercation at about 9:30 p.m. Sept. 3 in which John Howard Charney, 52, Biglerville, is accused of hitting her in the face and pushing her in an attempt to hit her again, according to Pennsylvania State Police, Gettysburg. Police said that when officers arrived to the residence in the 4000 block of Chambersburg Road in Franklin Township, Charney resisted arrest, and was taken to Adams County Prison on charges for aggravated assault, terroristic threats and resisting arrest.
