Tennessee coach Butch Jones speaks to the fans after winning the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Monday, Sept. 4, 2017.

The term "questionable" covered the availability of five Tennessee football players for the home opener Saturday against Indiana State.

UT coach Butch Jones used the prognosis Wednesday during his weekly press conference regarding defensive tackles Kendal Vickers and Shy Tuttle, kick returner Evan Berry and wide receiver Josh Smith. Team spokesman Zach Stipe included linebacker Austin Smith, who suffered an undisclosed injury Friday.

Saturday's game at Neyland Stadium (4 p.m., SEC Network) will be the first meeting between the Vols (1-0) and the Sycamores (0-1)

Berry and Vickers participated in Monday's 42-41 overtime victory over Georgia Tech in Atlanta before leaving the game. Tuttle, who's had leg and knee injuries, and Josh Smith (sprained shoulder) didn't play.

Jones said wide receiver Jauan Jennings is out indefinitely. A source told USA Today Network - Tennessee on Monday that Jennings probably is out for the season. He suffered a wrist injury against Georgia Tech and didn't return for the second half.

With team health in mind, Tennessee's players did their postgame recovery work in Atlanta Monday night rather than wait until returning to campus.

"I think that was probably pretty smart," offensive tackle Brett Kendrick said. "Usually after the game we don't have a bunch of recovery stuff until we get back here the next day. I think with the quick turnaround, they took extra measures to get us ready."

Jones also said offensive lineman Drew Richmond will return after serving a one-game suspension for a violation of team rules. Richmond is listed as the starting left tackle on the team's depth chart.

"I think getting Drew back is going to help us a lot," Kendrick said. "Drew's come so far since he's been here, and we're definitely looking forward to getting a talent like that back."
