I’ve just checked my flights for my trip in October. The return from Seattle was specially chosen to include the UA 747-400 from SFO-LHR. This has changed in to a 777. This is disappointing but not all that uncommon for the winter.
So, if you have a flight booked for the autumn/spring, I would check you seats. The flight time has gone up about 15 minutes, cutting my connection time. Upgrade intact!
With the change will be a reduction in upgrade potential. my fav seat is upstairs on the 747. The 777 has something like 25% fewer Biz seats and has the 4 across central dormatory (truely miserable – not to pay own cash for) space. Tje plus side is the 777 has better E plus and maybe some entertainment. So if not using an upgrade the 777 is better for economy passengers. Flying between SFO and BHX regularly, i like to go via MUC on LH, an airline superior ro UA.
Is the UA B744 really anything special?
on october 27 the 747 replaces the 777 on the bkk-nrt route.
