“Inside Look” @ United’s Global Services Program

The Wall Street Journal’s article, Inside United’s Secret Club for Top Fliers, does little to clear up the entry requirements or official perks for United’s Global Services Program, but it does illustrate some of the benefits of being one of the select few. Check out the full article here.

…or check out Randy’s post on obtaining his Global Services invite all the way back in early 2008.

Nothing really new there…just an advertorial IMO to attract more high rev corporate fliers. Sure with IROPS being a GS helps along with upgrades and access to Global First lounges but back in the PMUA days it was a much more highly coveted club with better in-flight amenities (like all domestic airlines in the 80s and mid-90s). I’d much rather fly LH in International First on an award ticket and receive better service such as being “whisked away” in a Mercedes to a hotel with a day room where you can sleep and shower and prep prior to your next flight.
