American Airlines is offering a fast track to status for non-elites. You must register by midnight on August 27, 2013 and enter in promo code H3TLI. The parameters are:
* Fly between September 1, 2013 and December 31, 2013 on eligible airline. Eligible airlines include American Airlines, American Eagle®, American Connection® carrier, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines and Qantas flights, as well as eligible codeshare flights.
* Gold requires 6,000 Elite Qualifying Miles
* Platinum requires 12,000 Elite Qualifying Miles
* Executive Platinum requires 30,000 Elite Qualifying Miles
Status will be given through February 28, 2015.
I did not receive this offer by email, but decided to try it anyways. As a non-elite with American, I followed the link, entered in the promo code and got a confirmation of my enrollment by email. It’s always possible this is a targeted promotion – but receiving email confirmation makes me think that it’s open to anyone. Please post your experience in the comment section.

you always get a confirmation email from aa when you try to sign up for a targeted promo. it has no relevance on whether youve successfully enrolled. this has been addressed by several other bloggers with respect to this same targeted promo.
