Radisson Turn Your World Blu free sunglasses and RTW essay contest deadline

Next week from Monday, August 12 through Wednesday, August 14 visitors to the Radisson Blu Aqua Chicago and Radisson Blu Mall of America near Minneapolis can win a free pair of Ray Ban® Wayfarer® sunglasses when they mention the winning phrase “Turn My World Blu,” to a staff member seen sporting the shades.

Beginning Monday, August 12th and running through Wednesday, August 14th, the Radisson Blu Mall of America and Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel Chicago will each give away a limited amount number of the coveted specs on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of that week. Throughout the course of the day, and at various random times, selected members of the hotel staff, from front desk to housekeeping will wear the glasses in celebration of the “Turn Your World Blu” contest, which asks guests to submit their dream holiday for the chance to win a trip for two around the world at Radisson Blu locations in the United States, Asia, Europe and beyond, ending Thursday August 15th.

When a guest or fan in the know spots an employee wearing the shades, they must say “Turn My World Blu,” to the employee, who will then direct them to the front desk for their own pair.

Free blue sunglasses at hotels in Chicago and Minneapolis reminds me of the 1980s song by Timbuk3, The Future’s So Bright, Gotta Wear Shades.

I always loved the line, “Fifty thou a year will buy a lot of beer.”

So true.

My favorite pair of sunglasses I lost a few years back were blue tinted sunglasses that made my brain feel so relaxed. I loved wearing those sunglasses.

August 15 is also the deadline for entering the Radisson Blu Turn Your World Blu essay contest.

We thank you for not citing Corey Hart…you may have covered this before, but is it pronounced pronounced “bloo” in Europe or “Bleu”?

    Who is Corey Hart?

  • Ric Garrido August 9, 2013

Wikipedia is my friend. “Sunglasses at Night”. Not familiar with it. I see Corey sold 16 million albums. I bet that is far more than Timbuk3.

On a side note: In February I went to the Radisson Blu Chicago for the Radisson Hotels annual meeting. I forgot my reading glasses for the trip and I had no spare with me.

One night we went to a Carlson sponsored event at a Chicago nightclub with a blues band. My wife called me frantic about some bill that had not been paid and I had to spend about an hour on the phone in the dark nightclub wearing my prescription sunglasses to take care of a missed payment.

I felt like a fool wearing my dark sunglasses at night in a dark club. I doubt I looked cool.

Moral rights are a concept (similar to copyright) that refer to a creator’
s rights to content. In this case they’re saying they have the right to use the essays that are submitted.

Thanks for the definition. That does not sound so intrusive when put that way. Legal jargon is ambiguous to the average reader.
