Paige Spiranac shares important PSA to protect dogs

Paige Spiranac is golf's first Instagram celebrity. She's picked up more than 1.2 million Instagram followers (and counting) as she works to become a professional golfer on the LPGA Tour, and she's never shied away from speaking out on a variety of topics that she thinks will help grow the game of golf.

But this week, Spiranac is stepping away from the course to share another important message. In partnership with PETA, Spiranac wants to spread awareness about the dangers hot weather can inflict on animals - including her dog Niko - that too often get overlooked.

"If you've seen or read the news recently, you know that dogs are dying in the heat. Me must keep dogs indoors when it's hot outside and always make sure they have access to cool, clean water."

Among the many tips she suggests:

"Remember, if you're hot, they're hotter. They wear fur coats 24/7 and they can't cool themselves like we can."
