4-year-old boy drowns in Racine County lake

BURLINGTON - Authorities say a 4-year-old Racine boy who died after being pulled from Browns Lake appears to have drowned.

The Racine County Sheriff’s Office says officers responded to Fischer Park about 5:30 p.m. Monday when the boy was reported missing. He had been brought there with several other children by a caregiver.

A person at the park spotted the boy under water near a pier and alerted searchers. Members of a dive team pulled the boy from the water and he was taken to a Burlington hospital but didn’t survive.

The boy’s name wasn’t immediately released.
