Authorities in Kewaunee and Columbia counties are investigating two unrelated fatal officer-involved shootings.

In the Kewaunee County Town of Franklin, a man was shot and killed Monday night by a sheriff's deputy, according to the Green Bay Press Gazette.

Sheriff Matt Joski said authorities were called about 8 p.m. to a location about two miles south of State Highway 29 about for an unspecified incident.

"The incident evolved unfortunately into an officer-involved shooting," Joski said. The deputy was not harmed, he said.

Joski would not specify the location of the incident and did not immediately know the nature of the call.

"It is somewhat of a broad scene," he said

The Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation has taken over the investigation of the shooting.

In Pardeeville, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office responded to a incident in Pardeeville on Monday night that resulted in an officer-involved shooting, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

"The incident occurred around 8 p.m. with officers responding to a dispatch call of a domestic incident in which the suspect reportedly fired toward responding officers," the State Journal reported.

MedFlight was called to respond, but canceled as dispatch requested notification of the coroner at about 9 p.m, the paper said.
