In its 25th year, the Youth in Agriculture Sale of Champions at the Missouri State Fair reached a record.  Superintendent and chairman of the Youth in Ag committee, Wayne Yokley, tells Brownfield this year’s sale Saturday night brought in more than 168-thousand dollars, “We broke last year’s record of $155,000. It’s really a pleasure to work with 4-H and FFA exhibitors and those that won.”

Yokley says the committee works year round to gather money to support the sale for the winners AND scholarships for seniors in high school. Scholarships have been given to students in 80% of Missouri counties since the beginning. Yokley says this year’s sale broke five records: including Reserve champion steer, champion and reserve lamb, and champion pen of rabbits.
