Targeted transcon bonus miles from Delta

The transcon market out of JFK continues to see aggressive marketing from the major players. This time around it is Delta offering up a targeted bonus miles promotion for flights between JFK and their three premium west coast destinations: San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle. In addition to being targeted, however, the offering is not valuable except to the full-fare travelers.

The promo is offering 30K bonus points for a return trip in paid business class and a 15K bonus for a return trip in Y, B or M class. Everything else earns nil. Like I said, not much use unless you’re paying full freight. Plus it is targeted. From the fine print it is not clear if all flights during the 60-day promo earn the credit or if just one does. If the latter this is really a bust of an offer.
