Milwaukee man charged in fatal hit-and-run in stolen car

A 20-year-old Milwaukee man faces hit-and-run and armed robbery charges in connection with a crash in a stolen vehicle that killed one person and severely injured another. 

Kejuan Dawan Turner was charged with armed robbery and hit-and-run resulting in death and great bodily harm, according to a criminal complaint. 

According to the complaint: 

A man told a police officer that he was at a gas station at 200 N. 35th St. to help one of his employees with her disabled car. 

When the man was getting into his vehicle with his employee, Turner pulled a handgun from his pocket and told the man to empty his pockets. The man said he gave Turner his wallet, and Turner then demanded the keys to his car. Turner stole the vehicle and drove away.

Later that day, Turner crashed the stolen car into a tree at 4001 W. Highland Blvd,, killing one passenger, Devonta Blackwell, and severely injuring another. 

A man who witnessed the accident later identified the driver of the vehicle as Turner, who left the area. 

Turner has never been issued a Wisconsin driver's license, according to the complaint.
