A Greendale woman has been charged with drugging and molesting a 10-year-old boy, who told a police detective that she forced him to watch and perform sex acts.

Tara Gotovnik

Tara Gotovnik, 35, has been charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child, according to a criminal complaint. Gotovnik could face at least 25 years in prison for the alleged assault.

According to the complaint:

On Aug. 7, the boy's father reported a sexual assault to Greendale police. He said he just picked up his son from Gotovnik's home. His son told him that he never wanted to go back again and said Gotovnik put sleeping pills in his slushy, he said. His son said Gotovnik undressed and told him to perform a sex act.

He said Gotovnik brought out sex toys and used one on the boy, according to the complaint.

A Greendale police detective interviewed the boy the next day. He described the sexual assault and another incident when Gotovnik made him take a pill that caused him to become dizzy, throw up and urinate on himself.

Police searched Gotovnik's residence and found sex toys that matched the boy's description. Police collected pill containers, including one for sleeping pills, as evidence.

When police told Gotovnik about the sexual assault allegations, she said, "I don't remember anything from that night." She told police she gave the boy an Ambien on two separate occasions but denied the sexual assault allegations.
