A Naples police car rear-ended a car a 19-year-old Naples motorist was driving when she pulled out in front of him near Coastland Center mall Saturday night, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Yelena Rodriguez was driving a Honda Civic, ready to pull out of the mall’s parking lot at 9:20 p.m. Naples police officer Alexander Rodriguez was driving west on Golden Gate Parkway when Yelena Rodriguez's car crossed his path, the report states.

The intersection has no traffic signal, and the officer had the right-of-way, the FHP report states.

Alexander Rodriguez had no time to stop and rear-ended the Honda. One of the police vehicle passengers, Paul Beckelman, 57, received minor injuries and was taken to NCH Baker Hospital Downtown.

The report did not say whether Yelena Rodriguez was ticketed. Alcohol was not a factor in the fender-bender, the report states.
