World’s Best Hotels 2013 – Travel + Leisure

by Adam

Travel & Leisure has once again named their World’s Best Hotels, unfortunately there aren’t too many that are points friendly! Here’s the full list, but be sure to check out T&L’s article for details on each property. Interestingly enough four of the top ten are in Africa:

1) Mombo Camp and Little Mombo Camp
2) Castello di Casole
3) Singita Kruger National Park
4) Nayara Hotel, Spa & Gardens
5) Four Seasons Resort Bora-Bora
5) The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs
5) Ritz-Carlton, Berlin (actually stayed here, it was great but I’m not sure I agree that it deserves a World’s Best ranking)
8) Oberoi Udaivilas
9)  Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve (wanted to stay here but settled on Kapama River Lodge due to cost…two trip reports earlier this week)
10) Singita Sabi Sand

Four Seasons Ritz Berlin

I recently stayed at Villa Gallici in Aix-en-Provence which touted itself as one of the top ten from recent history. But after the shower backed up in the morning I chuckled these ratings are obviously not done in person unless standing water in the shower is the new gosh way to do a pedicure…………Aix for that matter seems a bit over priced and over rated when there are plenty of other spots nearby with just as much chutzpah…………

Ohhhh – so many of these are on my list! Especially the Inn at Little Washington, the Inn at Perry Cabin and the Greenbrier. Unfortunately, they’re on my list but not in my budget!

I’ve stayed at the Hotel Hershey a few times and it is FABULOUS. The spa is amazing. They have a silent relaxation room, which is such a nice departure from the real world.
